A business meeting aimed at expanding sales channels for seafood processing companies affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake is being held in Aoba Ward, Sendai. Around 130 seafood processing companies from Sanriku and Joban attended the business meeting held at the Sendai International Center. The business meeting was launched in 2015 by the chambers of commerce and industry of the six Tohoku prefectures to support seafood processing companies that lost customers due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, and this year marks the 10th time it has been held. Around 800 types of products were on display, including a canned version of Miyagi’s famous bamboo kamaboko packed in ajillo and an all-purpose seasoning made by drying “Aosa” grown in Fukushima Prefecture and soaking it in sesame oil. Buyers from all over the country carefully examined the products they were buying, tasting them. A seafood processing company participating in the exhibition: “During the coronavirus pandemic, we did not have many opportunities to talk in person, so I think this is a great opportunity to meet with buyers.” Sponsor: National Federation of Fishery Processing Industry Cooperatives. , Bamboo Yeoji Ye, representative director and managing director: “I hope you will seize this good business opportunity so that our precious products can be clearly conveyed to buyers, and from buyers to consumers.” This exhibition and business meeting will be held in September.
