In response to the Tokyo antenna store that Miyagi Prefecture decided to close, the Prefectural Merchandise Promotion Association, which is opening its own successor store, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the store’s relocation costs. Miyagi Furusato Plaza in Higashi-Ikebukuro, Tokyo, will be closed on December 15 for reasons including the prefecture’s loss of business, but the Prefecture Product Promotion Association in charge of its operation has decided to respond to voices from customers who want to continue operating. Next January, we will move to Kayabacho in Nihonbashi and open our own temporary successor store. The prefectural Commodity Promotion Association is seeking donations through crowdfunding to cover the costs of the store’s relocation, with a goal of raising 20 million yen, with a deadline of December 27 to receive donations. The association plans to use the funds raised to pay for the opening of its flagship store from April next year.
