Descriptions:
An event was held in Marumori City, Miyagi Prefecture, where people could enjoy the taste of autumn by picking chestnuts and tasting dishes made from chestnuts. This event was planned to increase the number of people interacting with the city of Marumori, and on September 27, 20 people from all over the prefecture and Fukushima Prefecture, who applied in advance, visited the chestnut fields in the city of Marumori. About 150 chestnuts are planted in a chestnut field of approximately 6,000 square meters. There are about 10 varieties, and chestnuts such as ‘Tsukuba’ and ‘Rihei’ are ready for harvest. Participating children: “Take something that big!” On the 27th, many parents and children took part in the event, and the children skillfully used tongs to pick chestnuts one by one. Children: “It was fun. It was fun.” “It was my first time, but after that I became more and more motivated.” “I think chestnut rice is my favorite.” Participants enjoyed packed lunches made from locally sourced ingredients and chestnut buns. We enjoyed autumn by enjoying cakes and other foods. Visitor: “It was so delicious, it was like the taste of autumn.” The event is scheduled for September 29, but tickets for it are already fully booked.
