Descriptions:

On September 19, the brewery in the Miyagino Ward of Sendai City held a brewing ceremony using hops from Tono, Iwate Prefecture. The brewing ceremony was attended by Kazuhiko Tada, mayor of Tono City in Iwate Prefecture, and officials from Kirin Beer Sendai, who poured finely ground hops into the boiling kettle used to ferment the beer. This beer uses hops that are quickly frozen within 24 hours of harvest, giving it a refreshing aroma. This year’s hop harvest was lower than usual due to extreme heat and typhoons, but the hops are rich in aroma and good quality. Shigeki Kitamura, director of Kirin Beer Sendai Factory: “It has a refreshing aroma and taste, so it goes well with cooking. We hope you enjoy eating and drinking it with seasonal ingredients.” The beer, made with Tono hops, will be released on November 5th. It will go on sale nationwide starting today.
