Descriptions:
On May 4, a time capsule was opened in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture. About 20 graduates of Otani Elementary School gathered together to dig up the time capsule, which was buried one year after the Great East Japan Earthquake. The time capsule was buried by university students from Kanagawa Prefecture who volunteered to support education in the Otani area and urged children to bury it. It was filled with messages addressed to me “in 10 years.” Participant: “What I want to achieve in 10 years is ‘not to cause trouble,’ and so far I have succeeded in doing that, so I want to cherish that feeling.” “In 10 years, I want to honor my loved ones, my family and friends. I want to take care of the people around me.” Those who were unable to participate this time will receive a message by mail.
