It will be reborn as a facility that meets international standards for other sports.” It is an ice rink that is 30 meters wide and 60 meters wide. Surveying and other work were completed on the 2nd before full-scale construction began. The rink is designed for year-round use and will be used as a venue for international figure skating competitions and ice shows, as well as a training facility for athletes. In addition to being able to host basketball matches as the home base of the Sendai 89ers, it will also be renovated as a “combination facility” that can also be used as a concert venue. Xebio Arena Sendai Director Yuki Koike: “We will be closed for about a year, but we have since renovated this facility and hope you will enjoy this facility.” Construction will continue until the end of May next year, with a reopening planned for July next year. The facility will be donated to the city of Sendai and managed and operated by a Xebio group company.
