JA Kami Yotsuba, which operates in Kami and Ikama, Miyagi Prefecture, conducted the first inspection of the new rice this year. The inspection target was about 61 tons of Hitomebore and Manamusume harvested from September 9 to 11 by 19 farmers in Kami and Ikama. This year, there were concerns about the lack of rain after planting and the effects of extreme heat, but since August, there has been a difference in temperature between day and night and moderate rainfall, so growth has been going smoothly, and this year will also proceed as usual. The harvest is expected to be about 14,000 tons, the same as last year. In the inspection on the 13th, more than 90% of the rice was found to be first-class rice. JA Kami Yotsuba, Rice Department Manager Yukihide Aoto: “Until recently, there was no rice in the stores, but now that we are here, we have managed to get quite a lot of rice this year, so I hope you can rest assured.”
