‘The Village Hall’ tells the story of a rainy day and a packed afternoon at Cheeley Village Hall, under the tireless supervision of Frances Waring. There is gossip, scandal and heartbreak simmering under the musty fluorescent lights – and someone’s lost the keys. A chaotic, musical comedy written by Richard Sykes – and created by the team behind ‘By George – A Chip Shop Musical’ – editor – Maria Sykes, Director/Producer – Neil Broadbent, Musical Director – Keira Watson, Production Manager – James Clare.
Songs include: ‘(Text Me) Sexy Dynamite’, ‘Wherever I Hear Music’, ‘My Bobo and Me’ and ‘Winter Sun’. The show – staged in-the-round – features a huge cast of villagers, 18 original songs, and a nine-piece live orchestra (tucked away in the wings).
