Descriptions:

A sumo wrestling lesson was held at a primary school in Zao City, Miyagi Prefecture, where children and sumo wrestlers engaged in a fierce battle. Miya Elementary School in Zao City is unusual among prefectural elementary schools in that it has a dohyo ring in the schoolyard. On October 18, Master Magaki and two sumo wrestlers from Isegahama Stable visited and taught sumo classes. Kids: “My teacher suggested a strategy to get my legs, so I did what he said and won.” “I felt like I was pushing something that would never budge, it was so heavy it was hard to push.” Miya Primary School held sumo classes for the first time in five years since the coronavirus pandemic.
