HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! WE ARE FINALLY WATCHING HEARTSTOPPER! We’re back with another Mom & Daughters Reacts, and this time Tessa (Mama’s Geeky), Lorie, and Ivy are diving into Heartstopper Season 1 Episodes 1, 2, 3, & 4! We were SO excited to start this series. While Ivy has read the graphic novels, she promised not to spoil anything for us, which meant Lorie and I got to experience this beautiful story completely fresh — and honestly? We fell in love with it almost immediately. From the very first interaction between Charlie and Nick, we were completely invested. The chemistry between them is incredible, and watching their friendship slowly begin to grow into something more is absolutely heartwarming. This show has such a wholesome, comforting vibe while still tackling important topics in a meaningful way. These first four episodes do an amazing job introducing us to the characters and their relationships. We loved seeing Charlie find someone who truly appreciates him, while Nick starts questioning things about himself and his feelings. Their journey is sweet, emotional, awkward, and incredibly relatable. We also quickly became attached to the entire friend group. Whether it’s Tao being fiercely protective, Elle navigating her new school, or Tara and Darcy’s relationship, every character feels important and brings something special to the story. And can we talk about how adorable this show is?! The animation touches, the music, the chemistry between the cast, and the emotional moments all come together perfectly. We completely understand why so many people love Heartstopper.
Joe Locke (Agatha All Along, Heartstopper) is absolutely wonderful as Charlie Spring, bringing vulnerability, charm, and heart to the role. Kit Connor (Rocketman, His Dark Materials) shines as Nick Nelson, effortlessly making us fall in love with his kindness and emotional journey. Yasmin Finney (Doctor Who, Heartstopper) is fantastic as Elle Argent, bringing warmth and confidence to the character. William Gao (Sunset Ibiza, Heartstopper) delivers plenty of memorable moments as Charlie’s loyal best friend Tao Xu. Corinna Brown (Heartstopper, My Murder) and Kizzy Edgell (Heartstopper) are incredibly lovable as Tara Jones and Darcy Olsson. Olivia Colman (The Crown, The Favourite) also appears as Nick’s mom, and we were thrilled every time she was on screen.
