The Ultimate Bangkok Food Crawl 🇹🇭 Boat Noodles, Wagyu & Michelin Star
Bangkok’s Sathorn district is known for its towering skyscrapers, luxury hotels and corporate offices, but hidden amongst the glass towers is one of the city’s most exciting food scenes.
Today we’re spending a full day eating our way through Bangkok’s business districts of Silom and Sathorn.
Starting high above the city at % Arabica Coffee in Empire Tower, Sathorn. The views here rival Bangkok’s famous Mahanakhon SkyWalk, but without the expensive entry fee. Just an expensive coffee needs to be purchased 😂
Next, we head to ศาลาเตี๋ยวเรือ (Sala Boat Noodle), home to some of the most expensive boat noodles I’ve had in Bangkok. The prices might be MUCH higher than your average bowl but I liked them so much, I can’t complain too much.
For our main course, we’re visiting Oniku to Gohan, one of Bangkok’s most underrated Japanese grill restaurants. Premium Wagyu beef grilled over charcoal and served alongside exceptional Japanese rice, a simple concept executed to perfection.
Finally, we finish the day at 80/20 Bangkok, a one-Michelin-star restaurant serving a Thai tasting menu that completely blew me away. This was some of the most creative, refined and delicious Thai food I’ve ever experienced and easily the best fine dining meals I’ve had in Bangkok.
Can Bangkok’s business district really offer everything from humble noodles to Michelin-starred dining? Let’s find out.

My name’s Gary and I’ve been living in Bangkok for the past five plus years and travelling Thailand for over ten. I’m obsessed with Thai street food and it’s that obsession that led me to start this YouTube channel. I want to share my favourite hidden spots in Bangkok and the rest of Thailand so you can fall in love with authentic, local Thai food as much as I have!
If you love seeing off the beaten path, non-touristy, local life and authentic local life in Bangkok and Thailand then this is the channel for you. If go go bars on the Sukhumvit Road are more your thing (I’m not judging) then maybe not!
