In Episode 9, Lê Băng stands outside Thanh Vy’s door carrying pale blush peonies.
She came home early to surprise the woman she loves.
Instead, she hears how their love began.
A plan.
A promise of revenge.
A carefully arranged path designed to make Lê Băng fall in love, earn her trust and then abandon her.
“That ended, Trâm.”
But Ngọc Trâm refuses to let Thanh Vy erase what happened.
She remembers the morning Lê Băng left her alone with money on the table.
She remembers calling Thanh Vy in tears.
And she remembers the promise Thanh Vy made:
“You said you’d make her understand what it felt like to be given hope… then left behind as if I had never mattered.”
One by one, the moments Lê Băng believed were love become steps in a plan.
Outside the door, Lê Băng says nothing.
She does not enter.
She does not confront them.
She only listens as Ngọc Trâm forces Thanh Vy to face the woman she has become.

Lê Băng hears only their literal meaning.
The peonies slip from her hand.
Behind the door, after Lê Băng is already gone, Ngọc Trâm quietly tells Thanh Vy what Lê Băng never gets to hear:
“You’re lying to me.”
Lê Băng picks up the flowers, closes the apartment door without making a sound and leaves no sign that she was ever there.
Thanh Vy still believes she has time to confess.
She sends a simple message:
“Let me know when you get there.”
Lê Băng does not answer.
Inside a hired car, she is left alone with a bruised bouquet and the reflection of a woman who can no longer recognize the love she trusted.
Then the hospital calls.
A critically injured patient has suffered a traumatic aortic tear after a high-speed collision. His blood pressure is falling, his hemoglobin is dropping and endovascular repair is not possible.
The case needs open surgery.
For one brief moment, Lê Băng does not know whether enough of her remains to hold a scalpel.
Then the language of medicine takes over.
“Blood pressure?”
“Prepare for open repair. I’m on my way.”
When Khoa asks whether she is all right, Lê Băng allows him only one answer:
“Report the case.”
She leaves the flowers and her luggage inside the car.
She removes her jewelry.
She scrubs her hands.
She puts on her surgical mask and enters the operating room.
Work cannot heal her.
It can only anesthetize the pain long enough for her to save someone else.
With the patient’s life failing in front of her, Lê Băng holds the scalpel with perfectly steady hands.
“My world has shattered.”
“But the heart before me still has one path left to save it.”
