Descriptions:
Alaina returns from the big city to her small hometown to sell the house she grew up in before she has to relive now painful memories of the holidays. Will the town good-doer help her shift her perspective and change her mind?
This is a little short we made on our iPhones with one tripod and one light with help of a friend for TikTok in 2022. After we watched “The Happiest Season” which was billed and marketed as a queer holiday film, we were inspired to make a holiday film that actually warmed our hearts.
We were SO excited for the cozy, sapphic romantic comedy they were selling; yet, when we watched it, we discovered it was the opposite of that. SPOILERS: It’s a coming out film with problematic tropes that made it actually quite painful to watch. We’re still grateful for it because it’s a step toward more representation, and it made us think:
1. Let’s get back into therapy. lol
2. If they’re not going to make a holiday romcom that normalized our romance, then we WILL!
Fun facts:
1. We shot this film TWICE, one for vertical and one horizontal (which we have yet to edit :))
2. We shot all around Milwaukee — our first home together and a forever love — 4 locations in total!
This is short film #3 of 3! Head to our channel to watch our other two. We’re in development for our FOURTH sapphic holiday romcom!! We can’t wait to keep making films that show healthy, positive representation of the LGBTQ+ community. We love you all!
