Descriptions:

Today we visit one of the most impressive and lesser-known places in northeastern Thailand: Three Whale Rock, also known as Hin Sam Wan.

These unique rock formations are located inside Phu Sing Forest Park, in Bueng Kan province, close to the border with Laos. From above, the rocks look like a family of giant whales swimming through a sea of forest, creating one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in Thailand.

In this video we show the full experience: buying the entrance ticket, hiring a local guide, riding through the park by pickup truck, visiting several scenic viewpoints overlooking the Mekong River and Laos, and finally walking across the famous whale-shaped rocks.

According to local interpretation, the central rock represents the father, the medium-sized rock the mother, and the smallest one — which is not accessible — the calf. Beyond geology, this place has a special meaning for local people, who see it as a space of calm, respect, and connection with nature.

On the way back, we also stop at several other rock formations with symbolic shapes, including an elephant-shaped rock and additional viewpoints perfect for photography.

Three Whale Rock is an ideal destination for travelers looking for untouched nature and peaceful national parks in Thailand. Nearby, you can also visit Phu Langkha National Park, another hidden gem far from mass tourism.
