Everyone knows Koh Samui for its luxury resorts, beach clubs, and busy tourist hotspots, but what happens when you let the locals take the lead? In this episode, my friends @FloraandNote show me a completely different side of one of Thailand’s most famous islands. From quiet beaches and hidden cafés to authentic Southern Thai food, scenic temples, and a sunset picnic on an empty sandbank, this is the Koh Samui that most visitors never get to experience.
After months of exploring the lesser-known corners of southern Thailand by motorbike, it felt like the perfect time to return to Koh Samui and slow things down. We travel across the island searching for local restaurants, peaceful viewpoints, and beautiful stretches of coastline far away from the crowds, while also chatting about what it’s really like to live on the island full-time. If you’re planning a trip to Thailand, or simply looking for a more authentic side of Koh Samui, I hope this video gives you a little inspiration.
