Today we’re hitting a tiny local shop doing absolute madness with crab.
Southern-style heaven. แกงปูใบชะพลู (gaeng puu bai chaplu) – rich, yellow crab curry with wild betel leaf. Spicy, coconutty, perfect with rice. And at this same place I get ไก่กระเทียม (gai gratiam) – fried chicken with garlic – and it’s unreal. Juicy chicken under a mountain of crunchy garlic. Proper Thai comfort food.
We wrap the day with what I’m calling the best grilled chicken I’ve ever eaten. Not “best in Hua Hin”. Best, full stop.
