Descriptions:
🌴 Koh Rong – Cambodia’s Dream Beach + Getting to Koh Kood 🇰🇭➡️🇹🇭
In this vlog, we wrap up our Cambodian adventure on Koh Rong, spending a few lazy days at the incredible Sok San Beach. With crystal-clear water, powdery white sand, and hardly another soul around, it might just be the best beach we’ve ever visited. Pure paradise.
But every paradise has an ending. Ours came with a 7-hour journey from Koh Rong to Thailand’s Trat Islands, travelling with Boonsiri Ferry. Our final destination: Koh Kood, one of Thailand’s most beautiful (and still relatively under-the-radar) islands.
⚠️ Shortly after filming, political tensions between Thailand and Cambodia escalated, leading to the closure of the Hat Lek border crossing we used. Sadly, this even turned into fighting, with losses on both sides.
As of 30 July 2025, a ceasefire is in place, and wider conflict has hopefully been avoided. But relations are still tense, and border crossings like Hat Lek remain closed. Please check the latest situation before booking this journey — and drop us a comment if you have any questions about routes or alternatives.
We want to stress: both Thailand and Cambodia remain two of our favourite countries. On this trip, the people we met in both places were nothing but welcoming, kind, and generous.
