ADDENDUMS
-Clarissa’s DIY Wedding is the first longform to get color-coded captions! It’s hard to believe they didn’t always exist haha.
-The speech Tim gives to Clarissa at the wedding, while not being mentioned in Disaster, is absolutely thematically appropriate, what with Clarissa and Amanda playing off their feelings for each other and pulling away as a result.
-Totally forgot to mention that the “my body is a temple to destruction” quote is from the play 21, The Neighbour’s Under The Bed. Apologies!
-In the beginning of Disaster, there’s brief mention of three clients Amanda has worked with in therapy. Quote: “One did a marathon for cancer research. Another divorced her coercively controlling husband. A third got a dog that filled some of the gaps Amanda herself couldn’t help to repair.” I believe these are references to our main trio, and I can’t believe I neglected to mention that in the video! Amanda does not work with cancer (or marathons, for that matter), but she is a therapist, and even outside of work, she’s always helping people. Clarissa divorces Mark and gains more freedom and control in her own life. Mark gets a dog that fills some of the gaps in his life, aka a wife and kids. Like come on!!!
-This isn’t important but I find it funny. When Clarissa visits the family she did an article on 4 years ago, about the woman who jumped off the cliff, the kid talks about a video by Friendly Space Ninja about Emily In Paris, a video I’ve literally seen 😭
-I totally missed adding in the screenshot for the excerpt at one hour, seven minutes thirty-seven seconds, where Clarissa talks about good seconds. My bad! Don’t know how I missed that.
